Sophia Magdeline Akhiyat, MD, is a dermatologist that specializes in general dermatology and procedural dermatology. She conducts skin cancer screening exams and treats common dermatological conditions such as acne, rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, warts and many other skin conditions. Dr. Akhiyat also has extensive experience in using cutting-edge systemic medications, such as biologics and immunomodulators, for moderate to severe psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.
She has a special interest in cosmetic dermatology, including the uses of injectables such as neuromodulators, e.g., Botox and Dysport, as well as soft tissue filler. She conducts outpatient surgical excisions for her patients for both benign (e.g., cysts) and malignant (e.g., skin cancers) lesions.
Dr. Akhiyat believes that education and teamwork between doctor and patient is paramount for success in providing the highest quality of innovative healthcare.
In her free time, Dr. Akhiyat enjoys hiking, surfing, skateboarding, weightlifting, yoga, spending time with family and friends and enjoying time outdoors (with sunscreen of course!).
